Shampoo ad includes sin, hell and salvation
Watching TV this month you may have come across a new Head & Shoulder ad. I couldn’t find a video so here is snapshots of blurb from their campaign:
Calling all scalp and hair sinners! If you go to hell and back, to get your hair looking great, you’ll love new head&shoulders Damage Rescue. It’s triple moisturising technology leaves your scalp feeling great and your hair behaving itself – even when you’re not. After all, bad is the new good…
The Damage Rescue Formula was put to the final test by leading models – the ultimate hair sinners. Hear their stories and see them find salvation!
Your hair is back to its gorgeous best from the very first wash – and your sins are absolved!
It would be easy to go on a rant about how this is offensive to Christians, but as the copy reveals some people don’t understand the truth behind the concepts presented, worse others might understand and have blasé attitude to it…
No one should have the Biblical concepts of sin, hell and salvation diluted by a bottle of shampoo so over the next weeks I’m going to go over some of the phrases in the above copy, looking to what the Bible has to say about them, you might find it pretty shocking… but it will be fun! Here is what I have planned:
- What is Sin?
- What is Hell?
- What is Salvation?
- Bad is the new Good?
